Advancing Dementia Care: UMD Professor Highlights Role of AI Robots

Innovative approaches to dementia care are set to take center stage at the upcoming “AI for Good” international webinar series, where Professor Arshia Khan will present her groundbreaking work on the use of robots in dementia care. This presentation, titled “Cognitively Assistive Robots for Dementia Care,” is a collaborative effort between Khan, Tom Stevens of Tombot, Inc, and Moojan Ghafurian from the University of Waterloo. The United Nations extended the invitation to the trio, recognizing their ground-breaking work in this field. Arshia Khan is a respected professor and the director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Computer Science at UMD.
